Learn the framework

Read Sea of Deception and the accompanying I-CADMUS framework guide. Seven fraud categories, real case evidence, and the policy playbook — everything you need to understand how seafood deception works and how to classify it.

Work through 8 live scenarios drawn directly from Chapter 14 of Sea of Deception. Each scenario mirrors a documented fraud event. Benchmark your classifications against industry peers on the live leaderboard.

Sit the assessment

Complete a 90-minute proctored online exam covering identification, classification, and response. Pass, and your credential goes live in the publicly searchable SCA certification registry — verifiable by any employer or regulator.

Is the Consumer tier really free? +

Yes — completely. The Consumer tier requires no payment and no credit card. You get access to the I-CADMUS framework guide, the online self-assessment, and a digital badge on completion. We believe that the basic ability to identify seafood fraud should be accessible to everyone.

How long does certification take? +

The full Professional pathway takes most learners around 10–12 hours spread across their own schedule: approximately 6–8 hours studying the framework and reading Sea of Deception, 2–3 hours working through the case-study scenarios, and 90 minutes for the proctored assessment. There is no deadline — you can take as long as you need before sitting the exam.

Will it be recognised internationally? +

The I-CADMUS professional education programme is being developed by the Seafood Consumers Association Ltd. It is being designed for recognition across Australia, New Zealand, the European Union, and key Asian markets, with institutional partnerships planned on a one-partner-per-country basis. CPD accreditation with affiliated industry bodies is being pursued.

What happens after I pass? +

Upon passing the assessment, your credential is activated in the SCA certification registry within 24 hours. Professional tier graduates also receive a printed certificate by post and are listed by name in the registry — verifiable by any employer, regulator, or buyer. You will also receive priority notifications when the framework is updated and when CPD content is added.

Can I enrol my whole team? +

Yes. The Organisational tier is designed exactly for that — from 5 to 500 seats. You get a dedicated account manager, branded audit checklist templates, and API access to the certification registry so you can integrate credential verification directly into your compliance or HR systems.
